We always hear “Everybody is different” but is that true?

The answer is YES, not only genetically or mentally even physically our body shapes are different. We all have different body types. That is the reason why a certain two people does not like look alike, even though they have the same weight. Have you ever noticed there are certain people who can easily gain weight and then there are some who are always thin? There is science behind it.

Some of us are genetically heavy or thin. Our bone structures are different. The ratio of our upper body in comparison to the lower body is different as well. Since everyone has different body type understanding which body type you are will help you.

How to recognise which body type you are!


Traits: Broad shoulders and wider hips. Less or no curves on the waist. Slow metabolism.

Have you ever heard people saying even if I look at junk food, I gain weight! This this the major issue this this body type. They gain fat easily. Their problem is to shed that extra weight. Endomorphs have no trouble in gaining muscles. If people with this body type want to lose fat, they must be very particular about eating well and will have to train harder in gym. Traits: Narrow shoulders, Fast metabolism, Hard to gain weight and muscles. Their wrist knees and ankles are smaller in comparison.

 We all know those people who can eat anything and everything that that they want and still not hey remain in thin. Those people probably fall under this category. Their advantage is, they are naturally thin, does not have to make a lot of effort. At the same time, the downside is they must try hard to gain a muscular body. For women, their body might lack the curves. Celebrity Example: Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma.


Traits: Broad shoulders, Narrow hips, curved waist, and smaller joints.

They gain both muscles and fat easily. Their bone structures, wide shoulders and narrow hips, naturally make their body appear V-shape. Their joints are big enough to support large muscle mass, but small enough to create a pleasing visual proportion between muscle mass and joint. Celebrity Example: John Abraham and Vani Kapoor

Now there may be a lot of people that may fall in between of these categories. For instance, there are few who are thin but only gain weight on their belly. They fall in between Endomorph and Ectomorph

The idea is to know your body type and your metabolism, accordingly structure your diet and workout. There are few people who are blessed with fast metabolism and do not have to work out hard in gym. At the same time then there are people like me who gain fat easily and must make sure their diet and exercise are on point.
