What is Diabetes ?

  1. I can’t really say METFORMEN helped with diabetes as soon as I was told I was diabetic I did a 360 on my diet and lost weight and now have a whole new way of healthy eating. When I said I would like to take one of the two metformen away and Doctor said no and now not being on any with such a good result with Berberine makes me think diet change and not metformen turned it all around.   2. Thank you so much….. You have taught me something doctors NEVER said about the liver being the glucose storehouse…. They only say about the pancreas not being able to put out enough insulin. Hope you don’t mind I have another question then ………. What is the best thing to eat at night for a snack that won’t affect a fasting blood sugar wrong????? The reason I’m asking is I’m told a good protein at night is good, but on your article here you say grains are very good and I’m told NO GRAINS. I don’t know what to believe , such a conflict. I really like brown rice but now stay clear of it. Thank you for sharing what you know on this subject, it’s more than appreciated!

    • Hey Julia, Doctor’s have so many patients to take care of at times that they may not tell us the reasons. But their advice comes before any information we read as the information we have is generic not individual specific. I know this from my personal experience. My dad had diabetes so I know how his sugar levels used to drop in the morning coz he used to eat early dinner. And Protien is suggested usually cause it keeps us full for long hours. Try one the following healthful snacks before bed to help manage blood sugar levels and satisfy nighttime hunger: handful of nuts, Whole-wheat crackers, roasted chickpeas or sugar free yoghurt. Eating a bedtime snack can prevent blood glucose levels from dropping very low during the night.

      • Very good advice, but my blood sugar is high in the morning and I can see with your dad if his sugars were LOW nut,whole wheat crackers would definitely up the sugar. Any suggestions dear for a bedtime snack to LOWER sugar? Also I have some promising info as my husband found after searching of a product called BERBERINE he has ordered for me. I guess this herb is suppose to even out blood sugars and I was excited to read the info and thought of you, because it said what you told me that the liver is the storehouse for blood sugars through the night.         • I just had to write with the update of starting BERBERINE! This is absolutely an amazing herb that has made a huge difference in my blood sugar!!!!! They are running completely normal now, and the morning reading where my trouble always was higher is now normal! Fantastic change and I wanted to share this with other people who are truly struggling with their blood sugars. When I said to the Doctor I’d like to take only one Metformen instead of two you would of thought I shot her…. She said oh no you can’t do that well I did that and am now free of taking it with an added bonus of food cravings gone.         • I am so glad it worked for you. BERBERINE is a known herb in ayurveda for years. Along with diabetes, it good for PCOD, high blood pressure and High cholesterol. Even I have started taking METFORMEN as it’s a drug for PCOD treatment as well. So far I don’t see any difference.

  3. Blood sugar levels surge while you’re sleeping at night. while we are asleep, the liver releases glucose into the bloodstream. The liver acts as our glucose warehouse and keeps us supplied until we eat breakfast. For  people who have diabetes or who are likely to get it, insulin can’t do that job very well, so blood sugar levels will rise higher. While for others insulin can handle the surge by telling muscle, fat, and liver cells to absorb the glucose from the blood, which keeps their levels stable.

  4. I have a question……… I have just went through over the last year and a half of being told I am diabetic……Put on Metforman…. Fast forward to now with changing my diet and losing 40 pounds my blood sugars run completely normal through the day, but the morning is higher???? QUESTION Does blood sugar raise more through the night because of a fast of not eating? Thank you in advance, any suggestion is helpful. Blessings.
