This is largely due to the perception of an “ideal” body weight, set by media. We were always shown in different TV commercials, how a certain person does not get attention if they look a certain way.Most of us are always trying to reach to a certain weight target or trying to maintain at a certain weight number.
Let me tell you a fact, Ideal Body Weight was actually introduced to estimate dosages for medical use. Your weight should never be a parameter of your health. Your health is the key to your old age not your weight.
Let us take a vow to focus on overall wellness of our body and mind and trust me if you are overweight eventually your weight will reduce automatically. With healthy lifestyle, weight is bound to reduce. Your target should be to be fit and healthy.

Why can’t two people weigh the same?
We all have a role model for our weight or how we should look. However, we forget that everybody is different. Our Ideal Weight varies from person to person. There are variety of factors like age, body shape, gender, and height that should be taken into consideration while we weigh ourselves.
Height Example: A woman with 5’9 height will weight much higher and still look fit than a woman of 5’4 height. The same goes for men as well. My sister and I wear the same size clothes still weigh different. The reason behind this is our height and body shape are different.
Gender Example: For women weigh less than men even though they naturally have a higher percentage of body fat. This is because the male body generally has higher muscle mass, and muscle is heavier than fat.
Age Example: For women weigh higher when they hit mid 30 since there is a shift in hormones and the same happen during menopause. For men with age the metabolism slows down hence we see fat deposits on belly and weight gain
Body Shape Examples: A person who is large boned will naturally weigh more than someone who is small boned, even at the same height, making body frame a factor that can affect ideal weight.
So, the next time, you envy a someone else’s weight please keep in mind you are different. Your goal should be a fitter version of yourself. Do not compare yourself.
