Believe in Yourself


Everything you have in your life is a result of your belief in yourself and the belief that it’s possible. Here are the four most important steps to learning how to believe in yourself.


1. Practice : Practice and you’ll be amazed at the results. Practice makes things easier. Practice makes things near perfect. The other day my friend came in to do some baking with me(teach me rather). She is a professional baker and her cakes are heavenly. In her supervision she asked me to bake a few muffins with her recipe. The ones I baked wasn’t even close to the taste of muffins. I was pretty sure, I wasn’t doing something right(worse I can’t bake). I baked the same muffins the next day, turns out these were better than the first batch. I learned, If I want to bake a good cake, I need to bake it a few hundred times to reach the near perfection. I have seen the power of practicing and trust me you will see it too.

2. Believe it’s possible. Believe that you can do it regardless of what anyone. The only thing between you and your dreams/goals is your limits. Don’t underestimate your capabilities. Let me tell you a real life incident. When I lost my father, our entire household was in the state of sorrow. My mom stopped going out, thinking she is not capable of handling this new change. I recommend her to change a few things in her daily life, she was and is a little apprehensive thinking how others will react. I explained her we have to move on, we have to believe that our life is possible with every change. Believing is the first step towards achieving your goals.

3. Visualize it : Think about exactly what your life would look like if you had already achieved your dream.
Act as if. Always act in a way that is consistent with where you want to go. Visualization has power. Your mind is a great tool, but when we cloud it with our fears and frustration we make our mind our worst enemy. So, instead of worrying about results. Visualize that you have achieved your goal and how have you achieved it. Pretend you already have it. I know these may only be fantasies but the worries and the worst case scenarios we build in our minds also aren’t real as well.

4. Take action towards your goals : Do not let the fear stop you, nothing happens in life until you take action. If you want something in your life you have to work towards it, put all your handwork, dedication and sweat in it. Ship is the safest in the harbor but that is not what ships are build for. Take that risk, that first step and trust me one day you will be glad to made an attempt to achieve your goals. Have goals and work towards it. Every failure which teach you and every success will boost your enthusiasm.
