Self- Discipline – A Must Have Habit

Self-discipline is the ability to do What you should do, When you should do it,
whether you feel like it or not.

In one of the corporate job interviews, I was asked what is about my strengths!!

My Instant response was SELF DISCIPLINE

I know the pain of regret, I know the pain of failure, I know the pain of falling down that’s why I am in love with the pain of discipline now.

Discipline is the key to success. No matter what you want to achieve in life, you need to have discipline. Its a magical path that will take you to great heights. We all have the ability to reach to our desired goal, what is lack is the
ability to sacrifice laziness, lame excuses and the fear of failure.

Think about it, what if you put as much energy and time into achieving your goals as you spend in making
up excuses for failure, you will be surprised with the outcome. Wheather you want good grades in academics, or gain good health or want to be successful in your professional field all you need to have discipline in your life. I guarantee you, you will do wonders.

Self discipline helps you in many ways. It is not easy, it’s painful and tedious in the beginning but with time when you will see the change just by being discipline. You will fall in love with the Pain of Discipline. You will thank yourself that you determined yourself on the path of discipline.

Let’s adapt Self-discipline in there 3 Steps

Take Control of Yourself : You need to learn to control the inner lazy and excuse giving self. As human beings we have tendency to hide our fear of failure behind excuse. Look around and ask, “Is there anyone else who has my same excuse who is successful anyway?

Self- talk : Every day you need to win the battle within yourselves to be discipled. Give yourself a pep talk and remind yourself about your goal. If you are self disciplined. You will be surprised by the kind of extra time you will have in your hands. You will actually feel you have 25th hour in your day.
You will have more time for yourself and your family.

Make To-Do list : Prioritise your work. You need to learn to prioritise your work. Make a to do list and then rank them in order of priority. You can divide your work in hand in three parts Urgent (that needs to be completed ASAP), Important (you have time to finish it) and not important ( the work with no deadline)

Discipline reduces your stress in half. discipline gives you faith in yourself with time you would realise at you can accomplish a lot of things.

Unfortunately, whatever we do repeatedly becomes a habit. So it is crucial for us to form a right habit. Let’s build a habit of SELF-DISCIPLINE today.
